While Res Evil wasn't exactly a gun-crazy killathon, Silent Hill took the survival bit to another level - for large parts of the game you were reliant on just your legs and your wits, plus a trusty iron bar. The game plays out in a linear fashion, as you complete missions and watch cutscenes. Spyro represents childhood to a lot of people, which is a lot of the reason you have such conflicting feelings for Elijah Wood. But it also does amazing things no other open-world game has attempted before, using multiple perspectives to put you in the thick of cinematic heist sequences and other exhilarating, multi-layered missions like no open-world game before.
It features some interesting storytelling as well as fun and responsive gameplay. Pure gaming bliss blue shadows or not.
